I am in the market for a mid priced regulator and some of the dive shops near me have aqualung as their primary brand. I have seen the Aqualung Titan LX here and wanted to know if anybody had some experience with Aqualung and this particular reg.

The Aqualung Titan LX is one of the regs my wife looked at and tried out when she was buying equipment. Seemed like a nice piece of equipment.

The Apeks Tx- 100 was only $60 more, She bought the Apeks. :thumb"

Try as many different regs as you can before deciding.

Also if the shops near you sell Aqualung, they should also have Apeks.
Apeks is distributed by SeaQuest, which is owned by Aqualung.

Good luck!!

Aqualung now owns Apex and has incorporated Apex technology into the design of it's regs. These days, if you buy an Apex reg it's just another product in the Aqualung line. The regs are not identical, however, if you look at them side by side you will easily see the similarities.

I'm very happy with my Aqualung reg. I have a Cousteau first stage, rather than the Titan. My second stage is a Micra Adjustible, which is also available with the Titan first stage. It breathes sweet and it's nice not to feel like I'm holding a heavy brick between my teeth.

Hi,
I have a AL Titan XLC reg for my primary and a Titan LX for my backup. I love my regs.

I too believe that Apeks are fine regs. I like the Apeks 1st stage alot, so my next reg will be the ATX100 and the ATX50 as a backup. Very nice finish on the 1st stages and I like the 'blocky' design it has.

But, all in all, my AL's have served me well so far (I am a newly certified diver) and they seem to breathe great at any depth I have been at - so far (limited to 44ft - so far). I have tried some Scubapro's and Beauchats from friends, and my reg out performed the Beauchat, and actually felt smoother than the R380 and R190.

And I like tha fact that MANY dealers service the AL's - ncie if your on a vacation in some remote place and you need service! Tons of dealers service AL's!

The LX's look great, have a nice smooth purge cover, are small, and I like the easy to grab lever on the left side.

Aqualung's Titan first stage is essentially the "son of Conshelf" - the refined version of a time proven basic design that's as near bulletproof as a regulator can be.
Highly recommended.
