Hi, i was wondering has anyone ever had an aqualung titan inpulse??? if so are they any good or a waste of time??? cheers Tom

I don't know about the impulse, I've never tried it (never seen it either) but I've used the glacia on a fairly regular basis and I think they're good regs. It's not a coincidence that you find a lot of these in rental stock.

Really a bulletproof kind of reg. Breaths easy and is dry in ALL positions. Rodales really liked the Titan's in their reg tests last year, that's one of the reasons I bought mine.

The other reason is, you can get a Aqua Lung Reg repaired almost anywhere that people are diving...

The impulse second stage is a very good regulator. It is easy to overhaul and works very well. It has both a pre-dive switch and adjustable cracking pressure knob. It was discontinued as things were made lighter and the introduction of new line.

You will not have any problems finding overhaul parts or a technician to repair it. The titan 1st stage is a keeper.

I have made several dives with one other than the size I had no complaints.

I had a AL Titan XLC that I used before I went to a dry sealed 1st stage (Apek's TX50).

The AL breathed very well and I had no problems with it - ever. But, I was seeking a more 'tech oriented' reg with an adjustable 2nd stage.

The Titan is rugged and easily serviced almost anywhere's in the world!

Its scored VERY highly in Rodale's recent tests (see Fall 2002). Also worth noting is the AL Legends and the Titan LX's.

I have the LX Octo, its small and breathes SUPER! The LX came in around a '20' of a possible 20 on Rodale's scoring system. The Titan did very well as well.

I dove the Titans for a while before buying my own reg, and they worked wonderfully. They were the reason I went with AquaLung when I did purchase a reg. I went with their (then) top of line first stage, Cousteau, and coupled that with the Micra Adjustable -- and the combination has been excellent so far. I am extremely pleased with the way it breaths.
