Hi all, Anyone know what the buoyancy characteristics are of the old 72's?
I just acquired one...last VIP was '86. Not sure of the actual date of manufacture because there are no markings on the tank. It's one of those yellow painted tanks with the big Aqualung sticker on it. Would like to know what the buoyancy is full and empty, as well as the working pressure. Thanks in advance for any replies.:)

Working pressure is 2250 psi or 2475 psi with a plus rating on the hydro. Buoyancy is +/-1 lb empty.

BTW If you can not see the markings, the hydro shop probably can not either. Which means they probably will not hydro it. As such, you might want to remove some of paint.

It is rated at 2250 psi and 66 cu/ft, with a current +rating it would be 2475psi and 71.2 cu/ft. Buoyancy is -4 full, 0 at 500 psi. There is the possibility it could or could not be galvanized under the yellow vinyl, not paint, that is why you cant see the stamps, it's thick. Also it could or could not have an epoxy coating inside. You can take that to the bank. There are 10 of them in my garage right now.
