Has anyone seen this BC or dived it or own it? If so what do you thing about it, especially the new i3 lever gizmo built onto it?

I had a QD but it didn't have the gizmo you refer to. It's a well built BCD, but a bit heavy for my taste.

I have used an older Pro QD+ for most of my dives. I am not very comfortable with it - even with a size that suits me it still feels big. The weight pockets sometimes open up when you splash from the boat, and leaning forward then means dropping the weights. If you get this jacket, get into the habit of double and triple checking the pockets.

I have heard people say that it's a good fit for tall people and I can believe that as it is a bit too long for me at size L and I stand 1.84 m tall.

I've dived them (without the gizmo refered to), and found them to be well made but bulky and heavy. A friend had an XL, and it took most of the dive bag. The shop I worked for used them in rental/training, and at the time (3 yrs. ago) they had a terrible problem with cambands that would loosen. No matter how tight we made them, we still had tanks coming loose in class. I talked to a rep who thought I was full of $@&$, but hopefully this has been improved upon.

Personally I'm into simple, trim, fast drying, light weight stuff.

Don't have the gizmo, but I have the ProQD. I use it as a DM and have yet to find a more comfortable, better trimmed or better designed BC. It is a big BC, but I've had that thing anywhere from training dives in Lake Simcoe to wreck diving in British Columbia, loaded with weight, and have yet to find a problem with it. You get a heck of a BC for your money.

My Pro QD has worked just fine. I have the AirSource on the low pressure inflator as an alternate air source. Don't know about the gizmo though. I've had no problems with the tank band or with the weight pockets as others have mentioned. I'll agree it trims well. I use a couple of pounds in the trim pockets and the rest in the releasable weight pockets and all is well.

I saw an Aqualung rep demo the i3.

It really looks like something else that will need maintenance... not to mention the fact that it isn't the "standard" and you'll have to explain to EVERY dive buddy how to operate your inflator/deflator mechanism.

Think "Dacor H.U.B." but with the hoses staying outside the BC.
