I have a question reference ,mounting a dive knife to the Aqualung Pearl.
My wife uses this BCD, which may I add she loves the fit, ease of usage and blah blah....etc etc.....however I have one problem were are trying to figure out.

Where, in Gods name, has anyone mounted a dive knife on this BCD. Any suggestions would be great, we have been toying with several idea, among them tying it to the upper chest area of the BCD.

And of course the obvious solution many have said is - burning holes for the grommet mounts - through the lower half of the BCD (which I personally am not comfortable doing)

So i am just throwing this out there looking for some mounting idea's for her dive knife which she currently just throws in the BCD pocket.

Thanks in advance. TMP

It is advertised as having grommets top left for that purpose. What happened?
All my tools go somewhere there like that either side handles facing in.

There are gromets and the Sqeeze Lock knife is perfectly sized. Deep See is owned by Aqualung so that makes sense.

My Bad....the grommets are currently being used by her to mount her gauge/spg retractor, i suppose i can find a different spot for that.....

You can put the retractor in a pocket, and if carefully dissassembled, poke the cord out though the pocket mesh... Then reassemble... Worth a try at least

If you are using the Deep Sea Squeeze lock you have numerous options.
You did not state if you are using the I3 or standard Inflater.

The shoulder adjustment strap is a favorite place of mine, the case of the squeeze lock has a slot for belt mount. Unscrew the retaining screw and slip around the lower portion then reattach. The quick release shoulder will still function as well as the full adjustment. On the pearl, this could be uncomfortable depending upon your wifes build and the amount of travel she needs in the adjustment.

The cummerbund safety strap is an alternative, handle up it will hide behind the weight pouch release handle.

The power inflater hose just under the location retaining strap works well, using two zip ties it may be placed in a vertical over the hose. This does limit the amount of flex and may cause her troubles getting all the air out until she practices with it.

Using two belt straps it can be mounted to the right shoulder, however to me, this is the least secure method as it has a higher probability of shifting around.
