I bought (Aqualung owned) Deep See brand 6.5mm Safe Sole Dive Boots that have protective rubber overlay across the upper and toe. After 10 dives the neoprene on the ankle of both boots was splitting where it joins the rubber overlay. I called Deep See and they told me to take them back to the retailer- Sport Chalet. I did so and Deep See (Aqualung) has refused to warranty the boots. Avoid Deep See products. This is the item:
Deep See: Part of the Aqua Lung Family of Brands

I may have missed it on the list, but I was not able to find Sport Chalet on the list of Authorized Dealers. If you buy any product from a non-authorized dealer you never know if you are getting the genuine product or some knock-off. Next time do your research, understand the warranty requirements, and locate an authorized dealer. I've been using Aqualung (US Divers, Deep See, et al) products for years and never had a problem.

You never said how old they are.

It's not all that uncommon either. A little aquamend should fix you up.

I used to live in CA and I'm pretty sure Sport Chalet is an Authorized Aqua Lung/Deep See Dealer. At least they were when I lived there. I have found that sometimes because of shear sizes and the number of employees within a Sport Chalet store you may get the wrong person to help you that may not know the warranty offered by a manufacturer. I once had a problem with the zipper on a Deep See boot because I have larger than normal lower legs. It was entirely my fault and Deep See made good on the replacement and I switched to a pull on not zippered boot. If you don't get satisfaction from Sport Chalet let Deep See know and they may be able to offer an alternative dealer that will help you or contact the Sport Chalet store to authorize a replacement or credit. Good Luck!

Sorry to hear about the trouble with your Deep See boots. All Deep See carry a one year warranty against defects. Sport Chalet is an authorized dealer. I do not know understand why Deep See has "refused to warranty the boots". Did Deep See see the boots? Deep See has always stood behind their boots so I'm not sure what went wrong in this case. My advice would be to speak with the store manager at that Sport Chalet and see what can be worked out.
