I don't know whether this is the best spot on ScubaBoard to post this thread, but here goes. I'm researching the continuing production worldwide of traditional all-rubber full-foot fins which were standard snorkelling gear pre-1975. I have already established from browsing South American websites that Brazilian companies manufacture three fins of this kind:

Very recently I came across another South American made fin, this one called the Aquagom and manufactured in Uruguay by Bafico-Aquagom of Montevideo:

It's an unusual design because it comes with a closed toe, a feature common in Russian and Ukrainian fins, but unique in the Americas. The largest size, 41-44, is sold by an online retailer called Aire y Sol at
Aire y Sol - Pesca, Caza, Camping, Buceo y Náutica
I have found more pictures of the fins, all of them from South America's equivalent of eBay, Mercadolibre and the like:

What I want to find out is whether Bafico-Aquagom of Montevideo, Uruguay, is still manufacturing these fins and whether anybody has tried them, perhaps when snorkelling. Any information gratefully received.

During a snorkeling trip I was handed a set of rubber fins similar to your pictures. My personal opinion was that they were too short ,floppy and heavy. I prefer my mares avanti full foots.

Thanks for your prompt and helpful response, Remko. Sounds like Aquagom fins are used as "resort fins" by local operators. Was your experience with them in Uruguay itself?

I can only say they looked similar. Looking at these the blade seems to be on the short side too. I used them on a snorkeling trip in Mexico.
