OK, now we're excited. Just confirmed our berth on The Aquacat for Jan 5th 2008.

This will be our first liveaboard, and to be honest our first real blue-water diving. We've spent the past year in the quarry looking at wet rocks :)

Still gotta finish putting together more spares, and safety stuff...

You're going to have a blast. I havn't been on the Aquacat, but did a Nekton liveaboard as my first real diving trip earlier this year. Only problem is that you'll never want to dive any other way -- it really spoils you.

I've been on Blackbeards & am going on the Cat Ppalu this July (all owned by the same company). My Blackbeard's experience was very cool & I'm sure the Aquacat will be very nice. The crews seem to be very professional & will see to it you have a great time. Enjoy!

I've yet to hear a bad review, so we're hopeful that they'll live up to their reputation. I have no doubt that there will be more diving than we can stand, and that we'll gain 5 lbs each from the food :)

I'll just miss you – I am on the Aquacat from 12-19th January 2008 with Capt Slate and all his posse. Should be a good crack – went with many of the same crowd (incl. Slate, Wes Skiles and Hal and Jan Watts) in December 2003, so it will be good to be back on the 'Cat and in the Exumas.

Interesting --- The crew was chatting about the impending invasion of you guys :) They seemed a little intimidated by the legends that they were expecting! I suspect some of the stories just might be taking on a little life of their own, but if not -- y'all sound like a real crowd indeed!

If you get this before you all finish the trip, have a great one, and say Hi to the crew from the Dixon's.

Hope you can take a moment to write up a trip report. One that included photos would be extra nice.

Back from the Aquacat trip and, as expected, it was a blast.

That was the third time I have been on the boat – 2001, 2003 and now 2008, and it looks much the same as it did the first time around. They sure take pride in the vessel and keep it in tip-top condition.

Diving was good – did down the Exumas, across to Little San Salvador, a day off Eleuthera, and then back to the Exumas. Sharks, rays, etc – and swimming pigs off Staniel Cay!

As you'd imagine, having Slate, Neal Watson et al on one boat made for some fun times, both above and below the water – don't think the crew knew quite what to make of it. Sometimes I think they just turned the other way and tried not to imagine what was going on!!! :D
