I'm a Fish!
Day one of this months training is over.

We started out car pooling it over to Deaconess Medical Center in Spokane Washington.

Parking was a trip in itself. The patrol cars weren’t a problem but one of our Marine trucks was. He ended up backing out from the middle of the parking garage because he wedged the light bar in one spot. Just some minor scratches.

We made our 1300 appointment right on time and the hyperbolic treatment Center was ready for our tour. In the short time they have been operating they have done a very nice job. Three chambers side by side. One can only handle one pt at a time while the other two can handle a couple if needed.

Nice tour and we learned a lot about the program.

Then we broke the Mexican food tradition and ate lunch at the Red Robin.

Back at the Marine Building we did some training in the parking lot along with the K-9 units. Can anyone guess what we were doing? It should be easy.

Then down to the lake to apply what they just practiced.

Short easy day in the 40df water. Vis was around 5-10’ at best and I don’t think anyone even got deeper than 20’.

Ran into Rick Inman before his dive with a buddy of his. Then we did some BSing afterwards.

Before we went to Spokane some of the guys were insistent that I leave my vehicle in for a minor repair. I had already planned on it but they just reinforced my plan.

I get back to my car and the seat is all the way up with a note on my radio that simply said “Tall enough?” Worth a good chuckle.

After the dive I turn on my heater and HOLY CRAP, Puffed rice by the ton comes flying out of my defroster like a popcorn popper. Hehehehehe, guess I just got a taste of my own medicine. Now to play detective, Hummmmmmmm where are my clues and who will confess?

Tomorrow we start at 0800 and will be dumping our training can into the lake. We are going to dump it in at the ramp on Hayden that we have so much fun at, NOT. This won’t be part of the test I want to do later but strictly for dive training.

More tomorrow.
