You can use standard Apex regs up to 50% out of the box and Nitrox regs up to 100%. If you live in litigious United States then these figures are reduced, not sure about Oz.

According to the manuals I have with my Tx-40's, they will 'officially' go to 40% without cleaning. I have had mine to 50% without major problems. I don't know where the breaking points, nor the safe operating points of Nitrox are.

Hi Iain,

My manual states (ATX 200)

"The ATX200 regulator is suitable for use with oxygen enriched gases (i.e. NITROX) providing the oxygen content does not exceed 40%. If the equipment is to be used with gas mixtures containing more than 40% oxygen, then they must be professionally converted to oxygen service.
They are not suitable for use with pure oxygen unless they have been specifically rendered oxygen clean using the correct procedures, conversion kit and lubricants."

Not the TX 40, but some information.

Although not 'officially' condoned by Apeks, I do know a few people that have used Apeks regs straight out of the box with Pure O2. Apparently their manufacture process and the reg components mean that they are O2 clean straight out of the box.

I for one will be doing just that when I get around to buying stages.

I use mine as is for 100% and 50% and know others who also do. Have had no problems.
