i am looking at an apeks wtx harness and apeks wtx3 wing. my question is the wing is only 30 lbs. of lift. for a new diver that isnt quite perfect on weighting and such, is this wing sufficient? also, i will be lobstering and carrying around bags (hopefully) full of lobsters.

The lobsters are pretty much neutral.

Whether the WTX3's rated 32#s is enough for you depends on how much weight you wear and where it is located. The determining factor in wing size for recreational diving is how much lift is required to keep your gear afloat by itself. If you are using the integrated weight system and all the weight (including the tank) is more than 32#s, then the WTX3 does not have enough lift for you.

I have the WTX3 wing for cold water diving, and am luke warm about it. With the WTX harness, it may work better, but the wing is very wide. With a BP and STA, it tacos significantly so shifting air requires more deliberate movement. Not the end of the world, but not as convenient as the more compact/narrow wings.

I required 18#s with LP95 and dry suit, and weight is distributed between a backplate and weight belt. Never felt that the WTX3 did not have enough lift. Actually on the surface, if I fully inflate, I feel like I'm on a life raft.
