Hi all,

Just wanted to share my pics with you since I went with the Apeks line... I added the diverite bolts to my Apeks back/plate because I wasn't comfortable with just the velcro holding it in... It is now very secure and if I want to remove the backplate, a simple quarter rather than a screwdriver works best, it's off in 3 minutes...

Mike...

Weren't you the guy with the elevator BCD?

No,

I'm his evil twin... J/K... As I began diving deeper and experienced Monastery Beach at 97 feet I felt the greater urge to have more freedom in my waist...

Even though the Pro QD i3 has given me 45 dives in cold water Monterey, I didn't like the fact that I couldn't see my pockets on the jacket nor could I open them underwater...

I feel I have left novice behind and will be training my Advanced Open Water first week of October, once I complete my Nitrox and Stress and Rescue I should have enough dives for Master Diver...

The Pro QD i3 is a great BC but I only recommend it for divers that don't mind the Jacket feel and think that it's a great warm water BC...

Monterey for me is calling for more demanding equipment and I want to go a lot further in this extreme sport than just a recreational diver...

Cool. Well the new one looks pretty darned snazzy. Have fun with it man!

Looks like you're missing a tank strap though.

I had to remove one of the tank straps to attach the Diverite bolt... Once the bolt was fastened to the steel back/plate I replaced the strap... You just don't see a picture of the BC from behind once I'm done...

Sweet, looks like mine!:)

Sweet, looks like mine!:)

Dave,

I don't think so... Mine will look like yours when I have earned my dives on it... I hope to get as many logged dives as you have in the great future... ;)

Dave do you have bolts on your harness also? What lift do you have on your wing? I ordered the WTX 4 and will have it soon, 45 lbs of lift.

I hope I made the right decision. I opted not to leave the dive shop with the standard 32 lb lift it ships with.

I dive the Worthington HP 100 steels and have a set of PST HP steel 80's I can convert to doubles so that is why I went with the bladder that can do both.

Just hope it's not as huge as the WTX 6 or the WTX 8, those wings can fit a 747 Jet liner... :D

I dive a HP100 double using the WTX4. Thats all you need, the WTX6 in my opinion is for wetsuits but with drysuits, the WTX4 will provide a good lift.

As for the bolts, it is a good idea to have the bolts a little longer because it goes through the fabric/backplate/ and fabric on the harness. Otherwise, this is the best BC I ever have.

Does that bolt get in the way of the cam band?

<Shrug, thanks!>
Both my wife and I use the WTX with 30lb lift wings and HP100 steel tanks. We dive both dry and wetsuits with the same wings. And I do not use any bolts, just the tank straps to secure the wings.

I don’t use it for doubles, my wife does not like doubles one bit. :(

A note of caution, insure the wing you use for doubles is capable of floating your kit. 45lbs may be very close.
