Today, during a dive, my Apeks Quantum was working fine.

Then we ascended from about 40fsw to 30fsw (slowly, of course). We were at about 30fsw for a few minutes. All of a sudden, it started making a beeping noise and flashing, as well as displaying a "slow" warning. According to the manual, this happens during a fast ascent. I was at 30fsw the entire time and even descended a few feet for a while. Still, the computer would intermittently beep/flash and display the "slow" warning.

Not sure what the problem is, but it seems fine now out of the water. Could this mean that the computer has a low battery? What else could it mean?

Had the same/similar problem with 2 quantums. On mine, I was static, but the depth gauge was fluctuating by 10+ metres... which made it give crazy ascent warnings.

Apeks replaced the first, when it happened again on the second it just got stuffed in a drawer and forgotten about. I can't dive a computer that I cannot trust - and they just proved themselves too erratic for my personal safety.

To add more info, depth gauge was completely fine. It wasn't fluctuating at all.

It just seemed like the ascent warnings were awry. Might just be a Quantum thing (as per your example). I'll do some "shallower" dives and see if the problems repeat.

Used to have that problem way back after using said DC for about 2 1/2 years. The problem was that there was gradual deposits that build up in the sensors. After having it cleaned at a local dive shop, the problem was addressed and no longer recurred. Although I'm no longer using it as I found a better DC which suits more to my liking, I gave it to a friend who is currently using it and so far, he never had any problems with said unit.

Maybe a little cleaning of the sensors will help solve the issue. I posted such problem previously, although I'm not sure if it was in this forum or another one, there was a suggestion that you could actually do the cleaning yourself by using plain vinegar. Hope this helps.
