Has anyone used GA CYLINDER & HYDROTEST, LLC in Loganville, GA for hydro testing, in particular e9791 tanks? I will be in their area this week and had planned on dropping off several e9791 tanks. I called to see if they are fimiliar with/capable of doing the proper testing of these tanks, but their techs are out until next week. The guy said I could drop them off and the techs would look at them and test them if they could... but I don't want to end up with a bunch of condemed tanks because the techs weren't familiar with the specifics of e9791 tank testing.

If not, any other recommended testers?

Thanks!

I have. I spoke with their tech before driving out there and he knew about it. Still I printed and taped this service bulletin to the tanks:

If you cant do your own VIP's they will do a VIP with sticker too. It was $4 I think. They don't fill though so one of my tanks I got back had some flash rust after all was done so I had to clean that up before doing a transfill.

Great! Thanks @aviator8

if you are dropping off e9791 tanks, i would tape both

That's what I was thinking, definitely won't hurt.

@aviator8 so you basically did a quick viz yourself after getting them back, right? I'm picking my tanks up tomorrow (they said no failures WAHOO!). I can't do my own viz, and since I'm getting a viz sticker from them, I don't want to have to get another viz (x 8) just to check for flash rust. What would you recommend? How big of a potential issue if I just fill them and dive them? TIA

I just popped the valves checked for flash rust, then put them back and transfilled. They are doing a viz before/after hydro so any issues (pitting, thread rust gouges, etc) are going to be spotted there. I found flash rust in one that wasn't dried right so I just dealt with it then transfilled once cleaned up.
