I know it's been mentioned Ike has a shim/adapter so the S95 will fit in a S90 housing, but haven't seen anybody mention using them as of yet.

Thanks

Bumping thread. Or am I gonna be the guinea pig on this?

It sounds like it's just a thin piece of foam, in a square ring to go with the existing one framing the rear screen on the S90 Ike housing, to address the thinner S95, and they say the buttons are a bit out of line with the existing housing buttons but should still be functional. Figured I'd check if anyone had first hand knowledge.

FYI:

Received and installed the pad, and the housing test fitted fine with a S95 (and the S90 still fits too), all buttons/controls still work as before. Only thing is I needed to put longer nubs on some of the rear buttons (the original ones were too short), so if you do this, it helps if you kept the extra nubs that came with the housing (just had to cut them down to size).

As a side note, having longer nubs is quite nice functionally, since you don't have to push the buttons in as far (the rear buttons previously had a fairly long travel).

There's also still plenty of room between the port lens and camera lens (eyeball guesstimate is they're the same for the s90 and s95), so the lensmate adapter will still fit as well if you have it.

I actually think the 6242.95 and 6242.90 Ikelite housing are one and the same. I bought the 6242.95 from B&H a few weeks back and I had to place rubber pads on the buttons to make them reach my S95 without having to "bottom out" when pressing them.

I use to have a S90 with Canon housing and have to say that the only thing Ike has going for it are 67mm filter mount and better depth rating. The Canon housing fitted the camera much better.
