I'm waiting for nauticam housing to be available at local store.

I would like to upgrade from a g7x.
What I like with gx9 +na-gx9:
-small size
-lightweight for travel.
-4k photo & focus bracketing for post focus or focus stacking.
-flash included
-tilt evf for land photo

I see only 1 drawback for this camera: battery lifetime.
I would like to do 2-3 dives without opening housing.
Not sure it will handle 2 dives.
So I would like to increase battery lifetime with either
- external battery in parallel with internal
- external battery with step down circuit connected to usb (already proposed by nauticam for A6500).
I have no idea of the available room for external battery so far.
External battery would be either a 7.2v camera battery for gx9 or other camera, or lipo custom build 7.2v.
I have started a thread on wetpixel to discuss this.
External battery for GX9 or GX85 in Nauticam housing? - Mirrorless Cameras/Housings

Otherwise I already have 60mm macro & 8mm fisheye to go with it.

Did you consider the Ikelite housing for the GX9?
It offers true TTL via the camera hot shoe.
The limitations are: that for zoom lens 12-60 f3.5-5 using Ikelite 6" port produce vignetting at the wide angle zone, and can use the ring control only for zoom OR manual focus.
With the 8" port, there is no vignetting, but no manual zoom or focus.

Any news or new users out there? I have to pick a new camera pretty soon!
The current deal on $500 GX85 bundle is pretty attractive, but something about spending the almost $2k on Nauticam housing for an older generation camera holds me back on that route.
