I have heard unconfirmed rumors that Oxycheq is going to release a new Mark V that does not require a STA. That would make one hell of a great wing and I would want to wait for it. Hopefully, they will also change the wing up a little to make it drain easier. I have heard that that is planned as well.

I kind of like an STA on my Mach V, I have mine set super low profile and the tank s rock solid, however, I think the wing is out now in the Extreme version, the Signature is pretty darn extreme if you ask me so the other one must be bullet proof.

Notice how the semi inflated wing literally buries the STA,it just don't get much lower profile than this. The small amount of additional space the STA causes actually is a plus in that it allows the wing to fully inflate--more. This wing is so tight to the tank that if you pinch down on the space to much you might wind up with less than full inflation--if that matters. So, even if I had the one with slots I most likely would use the STA.

Notice I ground the bolts down flat.

And below the Mach V with the minimalist Freedom Plate.

Patrick mentioned it is "coming out soon" in a recent post, but declined to be more specific.

Traditionally, new product announcements frequently wait for the big trade shows, so that may be a clue, but there's no knowing for sure until the manufacturer gives more info.
