Anyone going to N.A.B. in Vegas?

I'm heading out to N.A.B. on Sunday the 15th, is anyone else going out there? I've been going for the past few years and refuse to miss it. For those of you who do not know, N.A.B. stands for the National Association of Broadcasters. It is the worlds largest film/video/tv tradeshow that occurs every April at the Las Vegas Convention Center. If you've never been and are interested in that kind of thing, which I can't imagine anyone in this forum isn't, you will dig it, a lot.

It sounds very tempting, but for most of us or at least for me is out of my league not only to mention I'm in Florida, but is good to know that at least one of our members will be there and hopefully when you'll be back you'll post yours impressions. I'm sure that most of the stuff will be about HD so I'm looking froward for your post.

I haven't been for a couple of years. Once again this year I had to choose betwen booking a job or booking plane tickets to Vegas. Unfortunately the work thing is still winning. Let us know what you see.

I definitely will, this year is going to be a big one, hopefully. Luckily I live in LA and have a bunch of friends in the industry. So we all pack up and drive out there. Should be a blast, I'll send post cards stating "Wish you were here!"

I was there last year, as my Father In Law was inducted into the Pioneers of Broadcasting (sort of the NAB hall of fame.) Breakfast at the Bellagio, big event and roast, tons of people, etc. The inductees were him, the ClearChannel family and some other industry legends. It was pretty sweet.

I won't be there this year. I'm in Vegas too much on trade business each year. This year its already been PMA in March, and CES in January....

If I'm there any more, I'll need to get me a nugget Pinky Ring.

I will also be attending NAB this year and I intend on taking a lot of pictures of new product (including the RED camera)...I will have pics and info next week when I get back.

I saw the Red One last year for the first time. I tried to get a demo unit but it never happened. Looks like Apple and Red are the buzz this year. 4K camera for $15K body? That's just nuts. Where are you staying at? A group of us are at the new Red Rock, my new favorite hotel.

I am staying at Hooters It was 105 bucks for the one night, everything else was 250+. gates has announced they will have a housing for the Red One, and our plan is to bring a camera and housing into our rental program...PLAN...haha

Unfortunately I have meetings all day Monday and Monday night. Maybe we can hookup Tuesday at the show. We head out Sunday morning and return Wednesday. If you were coming out Sunday I might have an extra pass for a special 20th anniversary party that Avid is throwing at the Hard Rock, should be awesome once they get past the boring speeches.
