Looking for a backplate and the OMS COMFORT HARNESS looks decent with SS BP.

Feedback or comments welcome on this or others.

It does look comfortable and for you it probably would be. But then again have you ever tried just the one piece hogart. just to see if it is comfortable as well? Do you see yourself ever doing some tech dives? or taking their classes? Some would say that simplicity is more important in your rig setup. Alot of what we need to buy depends on future dive goals, what dives you're looking to do, dive conditions, budget, etc.
I almost bought that harness but decided to see if the simple hogart was as uncomfortable as some have said, but it wasn't uncomfortable at all. I dive dry with a thick undergarment most of the year so that helps I guess. If you want to buy that setup, it's no big deal. If your future dives require the other harness it's a simple purchace at that time anyway.

If I may ask...just out of curiosity.....any particular reason you dont mention the Dive Rite Delux harness? I find it pretty good.

And, I would agree if you were going to hang 100 bottles off yourself the one piece would be better...but if not....there is nothing wrong with the other.

Rig it hog style. IQ packs and "comfort harnesses" are more than you need. A simple set-up will benefit you both in the tropics or under ice.

I used the OMS Comfort Harness for about 3 years, and never had any major problems with it. I switched over to a one-piece Hog harness last year because it is infinitely more adjustable, with less clutter and less drag, and I can place D-rings and pockets of various sizes anywhere I want on my harness. I can also get in and out of the Hog harness faster, and it feels more stable. My diving is single tank, recreational diving by the way.

well guys thanks for the feedback. I will be moving into tech divign which is why I'm ditching the BC for the BP, also due to the weiht of doubles and will start with a simple HOG!

Thanks guys. JIM

Oh one last thing, I know they can be rigged several ways but your thoughs everyone on straight over the shoulder versus crossed harness?

I dont dive the "comfort harness" but when i was looking into buying my oms bc set up I choose the IQ pack with a 100lb bladder. I like the IQ because its super comfortable, i would assume the comfort harness is also I have found the IQ pack is well put together.
