Has anyone been diving in Paudash Lake? Supposedly there is a tall rock collum that is visible in low tide. Was told it is approx. 50ft tall. Not sure where in the lake it is located but we have a boat available to us. My buddy and I were planning to dive there in May. Any help would be appreciated.. cheers

Low tide?...............In Paudash......I don't know about the column, but I am pretty sure there are no tides in Paudash. The lake is cold with a thermalcline @ 25' and another @ 50' (this are approx depths)......The lake is also dark after the 50' depth. Good luck with the tide tables.

Ya I was talking to my buddy about the tides and lack thereof and he meant when water levels are lower later in the year. Thanks for the info on the thermaclines though.. Seeing as you're from Marmora, what are the water temps/thermoclines there like? And do you know any other decent dive areas near Marmora...ever dive the quarry just out of town?

hehehehehe....The same.....seems anywhere I have dove (meaning small lakes) the thermacline is the same @ 20 - 25' with a second around 50'. Marmora dam is good for a dive or two each year. The quarry is posted, so there is no diving. There is a small quarry south on 14 which I may take a dip in this year, but I understand that there is not much there too see.

Hi Butch103

Have you ever dove up at Bon Echo.

I have heard rumours of Divers slipping in at the Point nearest the rock face and diving the wall.

I would fear boat traffic, especially in the narrows.:14:

No, I haven't, but I do know from other divers that Bon Echo is very cold and dark. The diving there is better left to advanced divers . The wall dive there is an overhang which can cause some disorientation. I may get up there this year, but no guarantees.
