I recently received this in an email.....The underline is mine. Turn in your friends for fun and profit!....sheesh. If it was above board, why would he 'make that statement'?

Free Subscription to Undercurrent
======================
For 30 years, Undercurrent has attracted subscribers almost
entirely by mailing subscription information to lists of divers,
which we obtain in a variety of ways. If you are a member of a
dive club and you're the first to e-mail me your club's roster
with names and addresses of club members, I'll give you a free
eight-month subscription to Undercurrent, which will include our
next Chapbook. We will mail our standard subscription package
and, of course, not identify where we got the list, nor share the
list with any commercial mailers. Thanks for your help. E-mail to
BenDavison@aol.com

So, everybody make up a list of names and invent a dive club. Send it in for your free subscription.

Yeah, I got that too. Sorry guys, I turned you in!!! LOL (j/k)

I'm revolted. I used to like Undercurrent.

I'll stop before I sound like Genesis.

Roak

Before anyone in Canada makes the mistake, this is now against the law (recently passed) and will result in a fine. Minumum fine is $100000.

Gota love the Canadain Privacy Law.

I get about 20 spam emails a day and I wish the absolute worst for each of those companies. I really want badly for them to leave me alone.

Every day I block all the senders and the next day there's a new batch.

Be interesting to see how something like this would shake out in court. I'm not quite sure how the Privacy Acts would apply in something like this.

20? Damn that's gotta be nice! My primary spam filter catches about 90, my private filter rules catch about 70, my secondary private rules catch about 10, and about 10 or 15 sneak through....

[yea; per day]

Spectre - you need to stop signing up for free porn. That helps the spam count. :)

But seriously, I used to get about 100 spam emails a day (and that was without the free porn, thank you very much) so I finally just gave in. Emailed everyone I care about with my new address and changed addresses. MUCH better now.
