I've been PADI AOW certified for about 5 years, but haven't been wet in over 2. My g/f and I are planning a trip to Cozumel with some friends this fall and am looking for recommendations for getting her and two or three others OW certified so we can enjoy a few dives while were in Coz.

First off, my certifying agency is PADI, and I plan to take a refresher course as well. Should I suggest to the others that we all stick with the same certifying agency? If we find a shop that has NAUI or SSI or other certification, will I need to get OW certified with that agency in order to 'qualify' for a refresher course?

Any suggestions appreciated!

Any refresher will do you fine. Sometimes I beleive it is better to take a refresher from an agency different than what you certified just to be able to see and try different techniques, tables, etc.

I've heard some pretty good things about The Dive Shop in Marietta. You might want to check them out and see how you feel about them.

Thanks for the response. I'll check out The Dive Shop and there are a few others on the list (that seems to be growing). :ditsy:

My g/f lives near Emory, so Marietta would be kind of a stretch.

Do you have any advice/opinions about LDS with on-site pools? I found one on the web (SV) and there are some other places closer to her home, but I really know little/nothing about those inside I-285.

you might want to try our Deep South Divers forum. Lots of Georgia people there, you're bound to get some more answers.
