I would love to use your experience!

I am putting together a UW system based on the Canon A 710IS and am a beginner!

Any one can recommend some basics setings for specific situations such as:

Without strobe
with strobe
macro
Wide angle
Normal

Settings include; Auto, Aperture control, speed control, etc..

Thanks!!!

Me too jg(see my last post about 15 minutes ago-smart minds think alike, I guess...lol)....One question, why the 710 vs 570-possibly 6X vs 4x zoom???...I'm, as we speak, trying to decide between the 2...Will pull the trigger on one of them shortly....would like to know what your research has turned up......thanks...Joe(still mildly confused....lol.)

Well I understand your confusion. Because I have made a choice does not mean I am not confused anymore.

Based on the various forums I quickly settle for Canon.

I do not want Sony (for personal reasons)
The 710 was the latest and has the settings I need as a beginner. It is a P&S not a SLR so one should not ask for the sky!

Based on what I have seen for 80% of us it is not so critical which set to use, more how to use it...

In my case too I do not have so mayn opportunities to take diving holidays so I made a decision and still have to try it out under water.

Am sure you are still conffused.

Sorry!
