We're planning our annual Cinco de Mayo Trip and are trying to figure out where to stay. Before we have stayed at Iberostar and then chartered a six pack (not too keen on the cattle boats that the dive shop at Iberostar runs). Scanning the forums and filtering negative comments on Iberostar's dive shop, I can't get a feel for whether or not we want to stay there again. Any feedback?

Our group is failry large (10 - 16) with about half of them being non-divers. Iberostar was appealing because there were nice grounds and activities for the land bound. Are there any places like that where the vegetations stayed intact?

At the end of December, it looked as if Iberostar hadn't even started reconstruction on their property. I couldn't tell you if they will even be reopended by May, let alone what the condition of the property will be in at that time.

ALL of the vegatation on the West side of the island took a really beating, but just about all of it that wasn't knocked down has started to regrow leaves.

How about the Allegro?
Are they as bad as the Iberosar?
Funjet is advertising February dates for 7 nights at the Iberostar in our newspaper!

I called for a friend and they are saying they are on schedule to reopen and the end of January. I am planning a trip by boat all the way south at the end of the month and hope to finally get all the south properties on the Wilma Album.

Allegro also says they'll be ready at the end of January. I don't believe they would be telling people if they weren't going to be ready...

Updated pictures of the Iberostar would be great Antonio. We have flights to Cozumel April 16th but no place picked out to stay. We have stayed at the Iberostar many times and have always liked it. We sure missed going to Cozumel last October, we had planed to be there the 22ed.

Hola Antonio, I placed an order on your website as a way of chipping in on the fuel, or at least a cerveza or two for your trip.
