Hi, if you own an Aqua Lung Nautilus Snorkel, what do you think of it?

Does it fold into it's case properly and unfurl into use well?
Does the case strap keep it closed properly?
Where did you purchase it, I seem to only be able to find it at Scuba.com?

I'm interested in this snorkel to keep in my pocket in case I ever need to switch to it for any surface swims after I dive. I already own some great snorkels, so I'm not interested in other snorkel opinions ,ex. pocket vs full sized

TIA:kissykissy:

I like mine, deployment has always been easy as is returning it to storage. It fits snugly in the case however I have always kept it in a bc pocket so I can not answer your question on how secure it would be in the open.

We carry it in stock, both in the black and the clear. I am not sure why your local aqualung dealer does not have it as well.

It isn't the easiest breath on the planet (small, flat bore) but it's certainly handy, stores easily and (in my experience) securely. Works when you need it, is completely unnoticeable when you don't.

I have two actually, they are ok. Mouthpiece isn't that great, but the flexibility and storage is really good. Overall, I prefer my older snorkel for when I am expecting surface swims and will be using the snorkel a lot, as a backup when I don't feel like having the drag of the snorkel it is pretty good.

Had one, came out of its holder on a trip. Never seen again. A horrible snorkel for actual snorkeling.

Its definitely one of my more regrettable purchases.

I also saw the nautilus by Natl Geographic on the joediver website for half the price of the aqua lung.

I've seen it but there doesn't seem to be much info on it. I hate it when I can't actually touch the item in a store and have to rely solely on the Internet.:depressed:

I have one. The Nautilus works ok as a snorkel, a little short however. The holster clip is not totally secure. I lost my first snorkel when I clipped it on a BC ring. I usually kept it in my BC pocket and will from now on.

It's the most compact snorkel I've come across. We keep ours in their holders and in a pocket. I doubt the holder was designed to secure it while clipped off somewhere.

We didn't buy them for snorkeling but so we would have a snorkel if needed while on the surface waiting.

It's always in the pocket but never have needed to use it.

If you don't have pockets on your BCD... well, maybe you could have a pocket glued or sewn onto your leg.
