Hey fellow Loonies,

Anyone diving in Lanier this weekend?

If so how many dives and where abouts, i dont know if any one will be due to the boat traffic but, we could get an early dive in.

i think i am going to try to get as far away from lanier this weekend as possible, the good news is,the lake will be quiet again and some great diving again this fall. cant wait.

that is true, and i think im going to head down to one of the springs in florida, anyone of any exciting ones, that have a deeper depth then 45 feet, like Vortex. I want somewhere fun to dive, and from what i hear the pelham quarry in Alabama has had bath water temps all summer, so alge will be high, water will be too hot for me to stand ina wetsuit since i get hot real easy, and too many ppl. Maybe ill take my windsurfer up to Lanier down by Sunrise and hang out there for a day. Who knows maybe i can even convince my parents into letting me take our boat out.

I think KPReid, Siren, Yellow Angel Fish and I are going to head up to Loch-Low-Minn Sunday for a day of relaxed diving.

I haven't been under in a while now. Partly by choice but that's another story. I'm really looking forward to the cooler Saturday and quiet weekends at the lake. By next month this time most people will have forgot that West Bank Park is even there. The water will still be relativley warm and we all can get some good dives in and maybe grill out some chicken or something.

I was looking back over my logs and it was about this time last year that we were up at WBP diving over at "divers cove" and grilling chicken. Water was murky until we dropped below 30' or so.

Hope to be back up that way soon. Going over to Pelham on the 15th.

relatively warm, but unfortunately i cant dive untill October noe, stupid doctor. Says the pressure could still hurt my nose, but, i was cleared to mow the grass? im thinking about chucking a tank in this weekend and heading up to lanier to dive under our boat just to get wet!!

I was planning on taking my 12yo diving at Pelham on Sunday. I got a report that the vis. wasn't that bad 20-25 feet or so. I can't wait for the weather to cool the water to clear and ijits to get off the lake! esp. now Mark has the Lanier Explorer running (albeit not on all cylinders). We should plan on kicking in for gas and food and making a day of it if Mark doesn't mind me volunteering him :-)

oh, and scott any time there's wind and you want to go sailing let me know!

since i cant dive for a while, ill probably go sailing this weekend, depending how busy teh area by sunrise cove is, i may take my windsurfer up, and try to have some fun that way.

By the way, speaking of Sunrise, has anyone dove Redneck Reef, if so, how was it??

My family has a boat right there, and im usually there on the weekends, so once my doctor clear me, i hope i can get it by October, then ill start diving.

And this Lanier Explorer, does it have capabilities to fill tanks?? :) that would be awsome, pretty expensive, since i imagine your regular air compressor cant store enough air to fill a tank, i know the one in my garage has a lol psi tnak on it, but it is quite large so i dont understand that.

i havent bought the air compressor yet,but i have been keeping my eye on a few,i do have a compressor in the garage but it only pumps 100 psi of oil and other contaminates.I might do a dive sunday or monday, not sure yet,i was going to go to lake hartwll but the wife changed my plans for me. I will post on here tomorrow when im going out,i have room for about 3 others on the boat if any are interested, will probably dive off the dam,its quieter there and the vis is better than any other place on the lake, about 10ft above the thermocline and up to 20ft below it.
