Anyone put a Ikelite AF35 strobe on a Canon housing for a Canon G9?
Need help!!

I don't have the Ikelite strobe but it will work provided it has both a pre-flash and no pre-flash setting. If the G9 is similar to my G10 and G12 it has pre-flash in some modes and no pre-flash in others.

Another consideration is the tray/arm on the Ike setup. It has the flex arm if you will be satisfied with that versus your choice of arm with the Inon strobe. Some prefer the ball joint type arm over the flex type. It's a matter of personal preference.

The Ike strobe uses a sensor and the Inon strobe uses a fiber optic cable. Either way you need to block the camera's flash from being in the photo.

The Inon system uses a section of dark film to block the camera's flash and at the same time transmits the light to the strobe to fire it. Downside is you can't use the camera's flash in a tight spot where the slave strobe won't fit.

The AF35 is ok from what I have seen when I started doing research. I opted to go with the S2000 because it is more adaptable to other set-ups you may be considering in the future.
Same applies to the YS-02 mentioned.

The AF35 limits itself to use with a P&S and does not offer other options/flexibility with cables, trays and arms. Also has significantly less power than the S2000.

ok noted with many thanks, anyway Im a P&S guy n automode
