Does anyone have any experience with this op? We're staying at the Lagun Ocean Resort which is managed by the same guy as the inn. We're going to be shore diving so we are for sure going to use them for an unlimited air and weight package for access to the on site lockers.

We are planning on taking AOW with them as these will be our first ocean dives other than a discover scuba in grand Cayman (we do however have about 25 cold water dives up here in SD since our certification in May). We thought it would be best to have our first few dives of the week with an instructor and hopefully pick up some new skills and experiences. But a recent post of being unhappy with an AOW is having us wonder if we would just be better off saving the ~$200 and hiring a dm to show us the ropes the first couple dives.

My main question is if anyone has taken a class with them? if so, how was the class?

No experience with the op but the diving there is very nice. It should be quite calm and there is a lot of life there.

We've used Curious2Dive - small operation that's very well run. Competitive prices. Great hire for a DM to cater to you, show you around, and help improve your skills.

Hi, I am in lagun right now and I went diving with that op on the 5th. I just used the rental gear and tanks. It cost 26 dollars plus 9 for the second tank. I am a brand new diver so I don't have any experience with different shops. I got my padi from the other shop in lagun. Which for the above setup I mentioned is 10 bucks more. I think the bahia is the nicer shop IMO. They had all new stuff and they dm was super helpful. He seems to really know his stuff and also seems really careful. If you want a more loose set up and are self sufficient then discover is good. If you need some guidance than Bahia is good.

I don't know about the class but it is a really small set up and the dm might not have time for the class. Have you asked about it? I asked him about some guided dives since i am solo and he seemed reluctant and told me to just go at lagun.

Lagun is awesome, the best place in curaçao to stay. You get your dive gear and swim 5 min to the reef.
