I was wondering if anyone is Using the Olympus C5060 with the Sea & Sea YS-25 Auto Strobe. I currently have this strobe on a different camera. I'm considering the C5060 as a good underwater camera for Better than average results without using a DSLR in a Basketball Size of an Underwater Housing. Any comments on this combination would be appreciated!

Thanks

Shouldn't be a problem but you'll probably have to use the fibre optic cable to sync with the flash

I have used one quite a bit, both in single and dual strobe configurations. Let me know if I can provide any info, or please share your experiences with me.

I'm interested how you managed that. Dee told me earlier this year that it was next to impossible to get the 5050/5060 to fire the YS25A strobe...

Since my Original Post whcih didn't get a response I've tried this setup. The 5060 will fire the YS25 with a Fiber Optic Cable with no problems. You definitely need to mask the Camera strobe as much as possible. The Range on the strobe depends on water clarity it is typically 3-5 feet.

My current setup, conditions permitting, is dual strobes on the C-5060 as follows:

1) FL-20 in pfl-01 Olympus housing, usually set to TTL mode, on a flexible arm (left)

2) YS-25 AUTO (right)

The YS-25 is fired via fibed-optic cable linked to the FL-20 flash, NOT the internal camera flash. I have velcro on top of the FL-20 housing, and attach the cable to this spot. This means that you have a small cable running across the top of the camera, from flash to flash, but it has not been a problem so far. I suppose it might be in thick kelp, etc. but this remains to be seend.

If anyone is interested in the settings and my experiences with this setup, please write.

Ah I just realised that I am using the YS40A oops! Although I'd have thought it could work in the same manner.
