I contracted septicaemia from an infected bite to a finger whilst travelling abroad and had to give myself daily injections of antibiotics into my arm.
At the same time I was starting my IDC and didnt want to delay / miss out and given that the diving involved wasn't particularly deep until getting onto the MSDT internship I wasnt too concerned.
I now have joint pains in the arm and hand which can be mild or quite painful at times, does anyone know if it's likely that diving whilst undergoing a course of 'heavy' antibiotics could cause long term prob's?

Any info would be appreciated, thanks.

Dorsetboy,
DAN (Divers Alert Network) is US an organization that among other things offers expert advice concerning dive-related medical questions. Answers come from physicians and others experienced in dive medicine. I suggest contacting DAN's Europe branch. Website is www.daneurope.org/main.htm or phone +34-085-843-0333 or fax +34-085-843-0050. In the USA medical questions are answered free of charge. Likely that's the case in Europe.
