Any divers that visited here of late?

We got a Air Canada Vacation package to here, in ACV's brochure, they posted a 6 dives/$175 US.
All inclusive

Of course I printed off a copy & brought it with me...the dive shop honored the price but wanted me to pay in advance....with a 10% tax added on top

Noticed in the dining areas, we have to sign off.....after eating & there is only a 8% tax.

Am I getting hosed....eh ?

Hi ogopogo007,

The St. Lucia government tax on hotel & restaurant bills is 8%.

A 10% service charge is applicable for scuba instruction & diving rates. You'll find 10% added for a number of other services on the island, including many hotels and restaurants.

Yes there is 10% SC on everything

They added both a 10% SC and a 10% tax?

Then perhaps you did get hosed.
