I just bought 2 Mares Hybrid Pures for me and my 13 year old son. His is a xs/s but I am sure that he will outgrow it quickly at the rate that he is growing. So I have a list of questions that I need some help with.

1. Would you switch the Mares for the Zeagle?
2. Is the Zeagle a bp/w?
3. Will the zeagle have enough lift (24 lbs for the zeagle and 33 lbs for the mares) to dive in cooler water with a 7 mil suit?
4. What are the best value weight integrated pouches for the zeagle?
5. If I switch to the Zeagle will you buy my Hybrid pures?
6. Will i need to add anything to a ET or ET deluxe before it is ready to dive, like a butt plate (whatever that is and where to find one)?

Sorry to start another thread but I want to get this right. My budget for the 2 is only $450 total, so not looking for other options unless they are in that budget. I have found a ET and an ET deluxe for $375. Thanks for the help.

1) Only depends on what you would want, but I would.
2) For all intents and purpose yes it is a soft backplate and wing.
3) If you are diving alu tanks should be fine.
4) Ripcord weight system. No buckles or special pockets to purchase.
5) Um, no!
6) Add a crotch strap if not included.

Ripcord weight pockets are an option. My ET deluxe has zipper/Velcro pockets.

As for add-ons I would get a crotch strap to keep it from riding up.

If you are diving in saltwater with a 7mil the 24# wing MAY be a little small but the ET can be ordered with a larger wing, 35# ? I believe or larger.

The Rip Cord weight system is not adjustable for length and can move the weight to far towards the back and cause you to want to turn turtle, especially if you are wearing a steel tank. Another option for weights are the XS SCUBA QUICK Release weight pouches and Trim Weight pouches on the wist band and a cam band, keep the Quick Release Pouches from sliding wit tri-glides.
