I ran across this board originally looking for some used gear.
But, after reading through many threads and acquiring a lot of very useful information I figure I should stop squatting and contribute as the other kind folks have done.

So here's my much delayed formal introduction.

I tried to fill out my profile in it's entirety, so you can get the full story there, but in summary I've been diving since Sep '09 and have a little over 20 dives. I did my checkout dives in Hawaii, and came home with another hobby that has now taken over all other hobbies and then some;) SB has helped me out and I'm looking to give back to the SB community, and hopefully meet some more fun people to dive with.

Can we go diving now!

Welcome to the 'board!!!

See that you already found your way to your local forum...Hope to see you in the water some day soon.

How was the diving in Hawaii? I hope to go there next fall, yeah I'm planning ahead..lol

Hawaii was great! I did my checkout dives at Sharks Cove on Oahu. My wife and I were also the only ones in the class so we were able to get some actual diving in. It was a fun little rock reef with some nice sea life. Hawaii has a lot more to offer then what I dove, and I can't wait to go back and try some more advanced dives.

Welcome, lowtech! You're in a great place if you like diving....and if you're curious about the whole DIR thing :D

We have an active local community. If you ever want to get out diving, post up something in the local forum and I imagine we can work something out. I know I enjoy diving with new divers....even better if they're working toward DIR path. Looking forward to meeting you....and hope you can get that Fundies class worked out sooner rather than later (side note: you could consider taking a GUE Primer class....Steve Millington is a fantastic instructor and I think he has a class or two coming up in the near future!).
