If you look at the PADI website all the smiling faces have their mask on their masks on their foreheads. I know a lot of people are against this because it makes people think there is an emergency, but it is a "rule" or just a guideline. My LDS doesn't allow it in class, but I don't see anything wrong with it....even though I don't do it.

Have you tried doing a search? :D

I think what David is trying to say is that the PADI website thing was covered fairly early in the almost-1100-post-mask-on-forehead-trainwreck.

Worked nights and weekends for several years when I lived in Austin TX. Always liked to dive Windy Point on Monday mornings. Groups from all over go there for OW divers on the weekends. Found lotsa knives, occassionally a weight belt or light but mostly MASKS.

When I first saw this thread I was thinking "What, there aren't enough of these threads yet?", but that's hilarous! -Thanks for sharing.

Cleary THOSE people don't understand the kind of danger they are in. Either that or they are brave enough to laugh inspite of the peril they are facing.

you know I've seen other people "scold" other divers for "walking around"
at the quarry with a mask on their forhead. or for having it on their forehead
when floating on the surface saying that it indicated they are in a "panic"
or an "emergency".

How many divers in an emergency will go to the trouble to remove and place
their mask on their forhead? I sould say more would just rip it off and drop
it in a true emergency. they wouldn't bother with putting it on their head.

I don't see why other people get so wound up if they see a diver with a mask
on his forehead....

I always wear my mask on my forehead. I mean before, after and during the dive. I have a mask on my forehead right now.

In my opinion, this topic really can't be over-discussed because it is so important. :D

I could really care less if you put your mask on your forehead.

In every class I teach, someone does it and I explain that it's a bad idea because with a hood on you can lose your mask and never know it. I mention to them that since I'm in the business of selling masks go ahead. Then I show them how I put my mask down under my chin and recommend that if they just can't keep it on their face.
