Hey I'm Jamie and live in Leeds, England. I've only just started diving since Aug when I got my PADI open water, I'm hopefully gonna join Freedom Divers Club soon (the local diving thingymajig) anyway this is just me saying hello!

Greetings Jamie and welcome to Scuba Board. So you are new to dam diving? I've often wondered about dam diving but have never done any myself. How is it going through the turbines? Or do you stay shallow and go for the overflow spillway?

Welcome to ScubaBoard! :happywave

Be sure to check out our UK Wreck Ferrets. That's our diving thingymajig that's local to you. I'm not sure if any of them dive dams though! :D

Dive safe!

Christian

P.S. Due to the high volume of new posts in the Introductions and Greets forum, it's not always possible to keep up with all the new posts here. So, please help me out and send me a PM if you post anything you want me to read or repsond to in this forum.
:palmtree: :sunny

Thanks for the warm welcomes! I knew I'd get trouble putting dam in the title.......:), also headhunter, couldn't you just go to my profile in the quick links column and go to find all posts, from there you can see any recent posts you've made, just a thought but i'm sure you knew that already ;)

Hi.

Me and Mrs Mares live in London, There are a few of use Brits about ;)

See you like metal :11: I'am a big Sabbath fan also Boston, Styx etc. but after seeing you profile this is probably a bit before your time :D

Are you going to the Dive show at the NEC :06:

hopefully if I can, and I love sabbath! \m/ i was really annoyed I couldn't see them at ozzfest as they didn't come to england this year :( oh well, I'm mainly into thrash stuff like early metallica, megadeth and slayer as well as metal bands like opeth, children of bodom, pantera and stuff like that!

Hi Jamie,

I'm not completely sure if I understood your reply post to me.

If you are referring to the P.S. I include when posting to this forum, then here is the reason for it.

I do use my subscribed threads feature to keep track of any activity on a thread that I'm participating in of simply following. The only exception to that is the Introductions and Greets forum. I have a separate "folder" that I move all of those threads to in order to separate them from the other threads on discussions that I'm trying to keep track of.

There is a method to my madness. I try to greet every new person that posts to this forum. So, I usually greet somewhere between 15 and 20 people per day in this forum. Each of those threads usually winds up with about 10 to 15 posts each. That comes out to around 150 to 300 posts per day that keep those threads resurfacing in my subscribed threads.

I remain subscribed to these threads, so that I know I've said hello to a new member. However, I usually don't go back and re-read them after I've posted to them. For some reason though I re-read this one. I don't want anyone to think that I'm snubbing them when I don't respond to a reply to me from them. That's why I use that P.S. in this forum. I'm actually a friendly guy, which is why I like welcoming new members and helping direct them to any info that they might be looking for.

I hope that was what you were referring to in your reply to me. If not, then this was a pretty long answer to a non-question. Is so, it's like the little boy who asked his mother a question. She asked the boy, "Why don't you go ask your father?" To which the little boy replied, "Because, I really didn't want to know that much about it!"

Enjoy the site!

Christian
