I'm a Fish!
Night and day difference from a couple of weeks ago.

I go into the office and sit down. I get stared down for 20 or so seconds and the words flowed;

“Did you know that what you do is the most dangerous thing you can do in law enforcement?”

“Yes Sir but only if you let it get that way.”

That led into a two-hour conversation. “Do you get enough training?” “No” “Will doubling it help?” “Yes” “Double it and I want a training schedule a year in advance get with the Sgt.’s and get it to me”.

So I push it a little. Can we still do the on-shift dives when we are fat and it’s slow? You bet, get me a proposal.

Anyway, when it ended our gear will be rotated more often, recruiting more people is a must. Setting up an internship for team prospects will get done. I’ve only been working on that for a zillion years.

The New Sgt. says I’m going to get trained in the basics but DO NOT expect me to be diving. I just need a better understanding on what you do and a $300.00 class isn’t going to cut it.

We’ll chat more next week.

HOLY CRAPSKI BATMAN. The brass has had a stroke. They just realized what we do isn’t the play-time they thought it was.

Time will tell.

Red alert! Last time I had brass be that nice they cut my entire high angle rescue budget.

Gary:

All I can say is WOW and good luck! To go from a deteriorating situation to one that "appears" to improve your team in under a couple of months is amazing.
