For the last hour or so, I have been attempting to do a search on this subject here on the board, but I either am not using the proper terms, or will be the first one to attempt this........

My wife and I each have a set of Aqualung Conshelf 17's (I think). They have one HP port, and three LP ports. The ports are located at 90 degree increments around the perimeter of the first stage. When connected to the tank, they are oriented in an "X" pattern. I want to reduce the loop of hose coming from the top two LP ports. One goes to the LP connection to the BCD (on the left) the other would be to a second stage (on the right).

Has anyone ever had any luck installing a non-swivel elbow, either 90 degree or even 120 degree? If so, what pressure would the fitting have to withstand? I'm guessing no more than 200PSI is required, or maybe 1,000PSI with a safety factor.

I have checked some local plumbing/hydraulic/specialty outlets around here, and no one seems to have anything that would fit the first stage and the hose fitting. I thought about an Atomic Swivel fitting, but I'm not willing to spend $55.00 x 2 to modify the regs, if a solid fitting would work.

Any thoughts? What other "gotchas" have I not considered?

Hi,
Apeks, Cressi and several other companies make swivels however they are generally intended for use at the second stage thus the threads will not match your intended application.
Be wary of using fittings that are not purpose made... several deaths have been attributed to this over the years. I would suggest you post this question on a technical diving board as fittings are their thing. or you could keep a lookout for a couple of Aqualung titan first stages, your regs will fit these no probem.
Hope I have been some help
Cheers
