Howdy Folks

Just getting ready to go on my first lobstering dive off Virginia and I've got a couple of "novice" questions:

1. Where do you prefer to grab the critter?
2. Do you put 'em in the bag face or tail first?

Hi pook 60,
Upside down in a hole after your first bug, they will grab you not visa versa. Have fun and watch your bottom time, it goes fast.

bag em tail first. Grab em with lightning speed. I go for the face and get both claws in the first shot. when you go at them fast they will bring the claws together and infront to shoot back into the hole. Good luck, and do not give up it is a learned skill.
If it is a night dive they tend to be easier to find.

From personal experience, watch out for the "mouth". This may not be an issue for you East coast guys, but I grabbed a 5lb monster one time (in Kali) and the damn thing bit my finger HARD. My goof I let my finger slip. I had a huge blood blister when I got out. Won't make that mistake again.
