Looked at the O2EII and liked the simplicity and durability. LDS wants $325. LP is sold out at $279. I'm not in a big hurry so I could wait until LP has sthem back in stock. Checked EBay and they have a few listed but nothing I'm familar with. Any suggerstions?

I've got the Analox O2EII and it works fine for me. I like the size so it goes with me more often than not. I find it handier to use as there's no hoses or flow meters to worry about. $279 is a good price.

There's a used OxySpy for sale on ebay. I also looked at it when I bought and liked it. It's longer than the Analox, but does come with it's own travel bag.

If you're feeling handy and don't mind hoses, you could always get a kit and build your own. I've seen them and it looks easy enough if you can wield a soldering pencil.

You could try the OxyCheq Expedition, about $250 from ScubaToys. It's the Analox O2DII (not the O2EII that you're looking at) that has been tweaked a bit by OxyCheq, for the better I would say. The problem would be if you are diving on a boat operation, that has the tanks on the outside of the boat: you can't read the display when you check the %O2, at least not easily, because the of the way the tank valve faces. You have to rotate the tank.

Which of course you don't have to do with the O2EII, the big reason to get it. So, is the convenience and locking display worth an extra $75? It is for me.

You can order from the Amoxtec, the USA end of Analox, at the same $325 as from your LDS. They also have a "Box pack that includes the pelican box at $347. I would rather order from my LDS or Amoxtec than LP, because I would be unsure of the time on the shelf for LP (and lifespan reduction of the sensor). You could lose the savings from LP in one premature sensor change.

All the best, James

Hi,
I tend to struggle regulating the gas flow from the tank. Depending on how open the valve is, I get different readings.
Any of you have this situation, how do you handle it / what do I do wrong ?

I have the O2EII and really like it. There was one on the Belize Aggressor III and most were diving nitrox. It was very simple for most to use it. Just for comparison, I checked my personal O2EII against the one on the boat and it was within 0.1% most of the time.

I own one; it works fine, no complaints. I picked mine up from the Analox booth at DEMA
two years ago. FWIW one of the dive boats I regularly dive off of uses an Oxycheq Expedition.
Response time on that unit is a bit faster than the O2EII. Either is a fine choice.
