We just got back from Ambergris Caye and San Pedro. We didn't have the greatest of weather but had some great diving. First 2-days there the wind was blowing in pretty good and the boats couldn't go out. So in the next 5-days we got in 12-dives including 2-night dives at Hol Chan Marine Park. We also took that incredible bumpy ride down to the Blue Hole ... a trip well worth the hype. Don't believe your eyes ... that picture from the air of the Blue Hole would make you think that the hole is surrounded by ground/coral. It's not ... that ring around the hole is 10' +- underwater, so when you get there ... you want know it except when the dive master says ... lets dive. Falling off the wall into the hole is just like I thought it would be ... like the edge of most wall dives, it will give you that sense of flying along the edge of a cliff. The big fish and stalagtites etc. are well worth the short time you'll be down there. The rest of the trip was spent up along San Pedro at Victoria's Canyon & Tunnel, Cyprus Pillars and others. We saw 2-pair of mating dolphin. Actually saw the male of one set fall away from the female and sink 50' totally spent. That was great and we have it on video. Saw nurse shark, turtles, and the usual on the dives. The last night dive to Hol Chan was pretty exciting. About 8-morays slithering all over the place, a squid ... yes ... a squid, rays, big ... and I mean big parrot fish sleeping and then the feeding frenzie of small fish going for the blood worms. There were so many that they would bump into the lens on the video and your mask. It was amazing.
We stayed out the road a bit from San Pedro at Banana Beach. Its a nice place but they have a small beach.

Sounds like you had a great trip

Yes the weathers been blowing on and off but thats pretty typical for this time of year thankfully we dont have to cancel too many days but do have to contend with choppy seas getting in and out of the water.

Glad you had some great diving isn;t it cool to dive with wild Dolphins on there terms ? Definately a memorable experience.
