Heading to Pelican Reef Villas Resort Nov 25 - Dec 5 with my wife & 2 boys (13 & 14). My 14 YO and me will probably do a few days of diving, but also looking for recommendations for restaurants and other fun stuff. The wife & 13 YO do not dive, but they do snorkel, so we have masks & snorkels for all.

Wife decided to NOT do all inclusive (thankfully), so we'll be eating out a lot.

Any fun activities/excursions not to miss while we're there?

Pelican reef villas is just South of the downtown area...next to Lighthouse Beach villas.

My non-diving wife and I did a snorkel tour to Hol Chan and Shark Ray Alley, and that was pretty good (tons of nurse sharks):

I also heard that the snorkel tour to Mexico Rocks is pretty cool, but we did not have a chance to do that one:

As for restaurants, we enjoyed Waruguma:

And the Truck Stop (basically a permanent location for multiple food trucks) has a variety of food types (pizza, Mexican, etc.) that can be good for a family:

And for a nicer atmosphere and a bit more upscale fare, we liked the Purple Pelican:

We spent one afternoon (after my morning dives) hanging out at Secret Beach, and one restaurant there had fresh hogfish, which was great. Secret Beach was fun to hang out at, but be aware that it is a pretty long ride on rough roads/dirt to get there:

Thanks for the updates! My kids told me they'd be interested in a deep sea fishing trip, so we'll check on that when we get there. I've got some solid recommendations on dive shops from here, but I'll wait until I get there to organize that. Still trying to decide if I take all my dive gear or just rent stuff there. I kinda like having my own stuff...
