Did anyone catch that show on the discovery channel this evening. It was called the "Amazon Abyss".

It was pretty cool, they were diving with all sorts of wild fish, eel's, and snakes.

The head photo dude has an annoying flair for the dramatic, but I'm 15 minutes into it, and its OK so far.

More soon.

I can't imagine being these people. A 3 hour dive, and we see about 25 - 45 seconds of footage. Yow. Although who knew there were freshwater rays?

How about sharing what depth they're at in this "abyss..."

Not thrilled. It has another 10 minutes to capture me before I pour a Port, put in a Westwing and start packing for tomorrow.

Oy.

Not impressed so far

If you do, you'll miss the electric eels.

-Oh, I've ruined it for you! ;)

THe depth (the ROV was at anyway) was somewhere around 300 ft.

And diving in soup..... oh boy.....

One hour into it.

Digging the Dolphins and the otters. Wood-eating fishie was kinda cool.

The narrator actually said "deadly killers" - nice.

I want to smack clown boy Mike the silver haired pin head who is way too enthusiastic and annoying to live.

I give the second half-hour a much better review than the first.

Of course, for the first I was drinking Diet Pepsi. Dow's 20 year old Tawny Port for the second. :11ztongue

I like your second selection A LOT better!! Yummm!!! :D

I agree that the emoting narrator should have been slapped up side the head. But maybe that's because I was still on the Viognier and hadn't gotten to the Port yet?

But we should all write to the Discovery Channel and tell them how happy we are that they did a show on diving at all, no matter how good or bad it was :)
