I think I am sold on the technique of using the red filter combine with white balancing at the same depth that I'll be shooting at.


Check out these 2 pics and see how similar the red on the sleeve of my wetsuit looks topside compared to 50 ft down.

Both of these shots were taken in completely natural light in JPEG and neither of them involved and editing what so ever in post.

None of the images show for me...
 
You need to use a .img file to put pictures directly on your post, or post them to the Scubaboard photo album first and reference them from there.
 
Now try it with rough surface conditions, lower visibility or early morning or later afternoon....
 
The colors are looking great, I am glad you found a technique that works for your. I look forward to seeing your more scenic photos in the future.
