I stole this idea from someone else who wanted other activities, but when diving is your passion, why do anything else?

I'm in Boca Raton, the ocean is a little rough out there, so I'm wondering if anyone can share their knowledge of locations that are shielded form the waves.

I know of BHB, but what else is there?

Any Freshwater lakes worth diving in south florida?
Are there cavern type area's that have decent diving WITHOUT going into an overhead environment?
I'm easy to please, trust me.
Open to suggestions.
Thanks, Richie

You're going to have to drive for alternate diving. At least 5 hrs north. This wind is covering the whole state, so I expect the Gulf is blown out too. All the freshwater around S. Florida is murky and alligator infested. The intracoastal is too dangerous with the boat traffic.

Wait a while.

i'm hoping things clear up around here by mid-week and we get some clear water by friday. If so, we'll probably do an early shore dive friday morning in Ft Pierce (Pepper Park) or hit Bathtub Beach in Stuart next weekend. i have not dove in an entire week now.......by next weekend i'll be jonesing bad!

People have said monday (tommorow), but I am highly critical that the conditions will not be favorable by monday. Hopefully tuesday the swells will be manageable and vis will be bad, but the ocean will be diveable!

Once the winds die down the waves will die down within 24 hrs, there's no underlying swell in the water. Vis will take a few more days to a week to clear up.
