We just got back from an all CCR (including the guides) liveaboard with UnderseaHunter group to Cocos island. We were on the Seahunter boat. Had a fantastic time with great encounters with everything from large schools of Scalloped hammerheads, Tiger Shark encounters, close ups with big Galapagos Sharks, schools of Yellowfin tuna hunting, squadrons of Spotted Eagle Eagle Rays, and even a pod of Bottlenose Dolphins feeding in a large school of Jacks. The rebreathers used by all definitely enhanced the close encounters with these awesome animals.
UnderSeaHunter did a great job with CRR support and accommodation. The crew was great as well as the food and creature comforts. Definitely recommend them for a Cocos adventure. We had 17 Revos, 1 Meg, and the two guides were diving a Kiss and an ISC Pathfinder.
Thanks to Paul Raymaekers from Revo for putting this trip together for us.
Btw, for those concerned about the crossing from Puertarenas, we had gentle 3 to for 4 swells on the way over and virtually flat seas on the return.
Check out this video from our trip.
