I've recently started diving a 2G. The manual says that the timer becomes automatically activated when, on a dive, you ascend to 20' of water or shallower. It's default countdown is 3 minutes. Though you can adjust this. And you can reset/restart the timer anytime you wish with the push of a button.

My question is: Can this timer be activated and used at depths below 20'? Or is it that, at depths below 20', the 2G does not offer a countdown timer function?

I have failed to be able to find the timer at depths below 20'. I'm hoping that someone can tell me that I am doing something wrong or missing something.

Are you running in gauge mode? I have not used mine in computer mode, but in gauge mode one button resets the countdown timer, and the other switches between the timer and the temperature.

Thanks, Peter. Just back from Lobos. Dove my 2G in gauge mode. Timer worked like a charm at stops beginning at 30'.
