Our club has about 30 aluminum 80 tanks, some painted some bare that need identification marking that will stay put. Anyone have any ideas? Not too expensive?

cheers,

I use paint sticks. Work fine.

Paint sticks work well. I mark mine around the neck, less likely to get scratched and rubbed off.

I use permanant markers, we end up darkening them in every two years or so depending on use.

The marker lasts quite a while especially when users are not doing their proper wash down / rinse on the gear they use:)

I use stamps (that stamp into the metal like a hydro marking) to put my unique identifier on each tank I own.

I have seen some people go overboard on stamping and end up with a tank that was worthless at the next hydro...

Someone told me not to because of some DOT regulation.
That was my idea but members of the club executive thought it might be a problem.

cheers,

I use all of the above and like the paint pens best--put my initials right below the neck. For contents (Nitrox, etc.), duct tape & permanent marker.
