In a few months ill be heading to Honduras to complete my IDC and decided to start putting together my gear. I'm having the most trouble with choosing a regulator ....mostly because there are so many good ones out there. I am stuck choosing between the Aqualung Legend LX ACD, the Atomic B2, and the ScubaPro MK25/S600. I plan on diving mostly in warm water and I also plan on traveling a fair bit with my equipment. Right now I am leaning towards the AL Legend LX for two reasons.

Firstly, from what I understand, Aqualung is a brand that can be serviced around the world. I plan on buying from an LDS but probably wont be in the area long enough to use them for servicing. I want to make sure that I can have my regulator serviced virtuaqlly anywhere.

Secondly, the Legend is quite a bit cheaper than the two other choices, and seeing as I am still a student, that counts big for me.

What does everyone think? Which is the best choice for me? Am I missing any other good contenders?

I'm in the same position as well, actually looking at the same three setups, as well as the Zeagle Flathead VI, but that's more of a U.S. only company as far as finding service from what I understand. I'm trying to find people in my dive circles that have each to see if I can try them out, as I'm planning on taking it all the way to cave/tech and want to get the right one the first time.

I would look into Scuapro Mk17/G250V
That would be similar to the Legend LX
The Atomic and Mk 25/S600 are both Piston Type.
If you are in warm water most of the Time the MK25 would be my choice.
If you are going to be in cold dirty water some of the time ,i would go with the MK 17 or the Legend
All four Regs Are equally good.
I like the ScubaPro and Aqualung because no matter where you go you can get service.

As an instructor you'll most likely see much time in the pool. I find diaphragm 1st stages (or sealed piston like Sherwood) stand up better than piston regulators with an open ambient chamber.
Just my subjective observation.
