Here are some underwater photos I took on a trip to Akumal Mexico on the Yucatan Peninsula in late March. They were all taken while snorkeling (I don't scuba dive). Turtles are very common here (there is a resident population of greens in Akumal Bay), so it is relatively easy to get good turtle shots:

Also during this trip I visited three cenotes (freshwater sinkholes or springs). These turned out to be great. I had never been snorkeling in clear freshwater before, so this was a unique experience and one that I would highly recommend. Cenote photos are here (both above and underwater):

Here are a few of the better pictures:

You get better pictures snorkeling than I do diving. I think I hate you :D.

Great shots. When we snorkeled at Akumal, there were very few fish. I think we missed feeding time. We enjoyed the Grand Cenote as well, especially swimming through the tunnel. I think a lot of people who just do Coz miss out on some great stuff on the Riviera Maya. We really enjoyed the people and the sights. Not knocking Coz, of course, world class diving and a good time for sure. Love the Turtles. Can't get enough Turtles.

Beautiful shots, Dave C! Nice turtle shots. :D
