Hello

My daughter and I look to be heading to Fiji and then to the Cooks over winter break. I have read the guidebooks all I can handle. Fiji and Rarotonga I have figured. Does anyone here have personal experiences with lodging on Aitutaki? Any recommendations? Any caveats?

Thanks

Michael

Hi,
stayed at Paradise Cove on Aitutaki for a week in 2003. The beachfront bungalows were really nice, but the beach huts and standard rooms were a bit duff. Met an Aussie couple on honeymoon and visited them at the Pacific Resort, upmarket but very nice and good restaurant. And don't miss Crusher Bar, the best bar on the island!

I stayed at the Are Tamanu (literally, House of Mahogany). Beautiful rooms with mahogany floors and good beddings. Book early -- there aren't too many vacancies b/c of the small number of rooms there.
